Sawyer Morris has been training in Martial Arts since age 4. At age 6 he started training in submission wrestling and Japanese Jiu Jitsu. At age 10, after training for more than four years in Japanese Jiu Jitsu, because of his dedication to training and his abilities was awarded his Black Belt. This made Sawyer the youngest black belt in the history of Hanna Chikara Japanese Jiu Jitsu.
In an effort to refine his skills, and on the recommendation of his coach Jeff Tovar, Sawyer started training with World-renowned Jiu Jitsu Champion Phil Cardella. Mr. Cardella introduced Sawyer to the world of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The Relson Gracie discipline accelerated Sawyer to a new level of national and international competition. Mr. Cardella's dedication to Sawyers' skills and training has earned Sawyer a spot on one of the top teams in the world today, Relson Gracie Jiu Jitsu Competition Team. This team trains in Austin, Texas and under the guidance of Phil Cardella, travels nationally and internationally competing in the world's top tournament venues. Sawyer is the team's youngest member.
Sawyer also competes in Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco/Roman wrestling and currently wrestles for Westlake High school in Austin, Texas. Sawyer' wrestling training is under:
