So there was this tournament way out in College Station that we made a last-minute wrecking crew to do, and it was good times. Everyone had 5-10 fights and had a good time - no injuries, no drama. Good sportsmanship all around.

I got first in my division. Lots of armbars from mount.

Emmanuel P. got 4th, missing 3rd by a hair but most of his matches were draws that he dominated positionally. People were very impressed with his technique.

Ian Lee got 3rd in his division - nobody passed his guard all day.

Ulisses Ramirez got 1st in his division (same div. as Ian) - I don't think anyone passed his guard either, and he landed some SLICK armbars from the guard.

Georgette did not place in her division, but was fighting both women AND men. She landed a very nice mounted guillotine on one opponent and showed good grit and sportsmanship and didn't even look tired after all her fights.

Everyone was impressed with our school's technique and many people asked where we were located so they might train with us given the opportunity.

Georgette's husband was kind enough to video all the fights and there are tons of pictures floating around on Facebook if you want to see them all.

Here's the crew:

scott, after looking at this picture of the crew, i think you should work on expanding your reach (arm length). maybe someday your reach will rival mine, but i doubt it.

i just noticed that now, you have the arm span of a giant. That's incredible.

I don't like those arms, it makes for scary stand-up

I mean, look at the picture real carefully... His right hand is on the outside of Ian's shoulder. Thats just ridiculous! I'm gonna have to hyperextend that arm one of these days to give everyone else a chance.

My arms are a normal length for my height. I'm just leaning over in the picture because everyone is much shorter than me. Razz

Yes, his arms are freakishly long. It sucks to try and get past his jab. Since his legs are similarly lanky, it sucks to be in his guard, too.

Actually a pretty common sweep done exactly the way it is suppose to be done...sucks to be the "sweepee" though, love it.
