Hi everyone,

I plan on starting law school at UT in the fall, and I am looking for a place to train.
My name is Nick, I'm 22, and I've been training BJJ for about a year.
I hope to get a chance to visit Austin before school starts, and if so, I'd like to try to come visit your school.
How far is it from the UT Campus, and are there any other UT students that train there?
Thanks!

Nick

The main academy is about 4 1/2 miles from the UT campus. The Austin Martial Arts Academy is about 7 miles. You can check out maps and class times here.

And yes we have several UT students that train here.

Look forward to seeing you.

I would like you to know the HQ is on the UT bus route as well. I also have a UT crew that trains @ UT as well as at my academies. I give seminars on camus @ UT each semester. We have atleast 15 UT students that train with us. Where do you currently train?

Nick,

I'm currently a 2L at UT. Like you I trained for a year in Houston b/f moving up to Austin, but I didn't start training w/ Phil until this fall (last year I was instructor-less). My game has improved so much since then, I only wish I had started training here fall of my first year instead of fall of my second.

3 things to keep in mind:
You can afford to train on a financial aid budget.
There is time to train during your first year.
You need to trian not only to relieve stress, but to do something outside of law school.

If you have any questions about training w/ us or law school give me a call--512 415-4461

I guess it's about time for me to do another UT seminar huh. One reason each semester I do these seminars up there is because so many of my loyal students show up. Maybe Daniel & Deigo will go up there with me in the next couple weeks. I think it's about time UT has the World Champ up there for more than just oogling at the girls. Andrew you & Mike G. should do help me set this up. I think it's about that time. Phil

Thanks for your reply Andrew!

Your comments mean a lot to me, coming from someone who is farther down the same path that I plan to walk.
I am happy that your comments encourage training while in law school.
How many days per week do you find time to train?
I'm sure that I'll have more questions about Austin, training, and law school, so if you get a call from me sometime in the future, I hope you remember who I am.

Thanks again for you help,

Nick

mgonzalz@tsl.state.tx.us - talk to Mike & Andrew, they are the main two that train @ UT. I talked to Mike yesterday & we are setting a date for a seminar up there. I look forward to it. Phil

Nick -- I typically train 4x per week. Feel free to give me a shout.

Cody -- What section were you in? Do I know you? I've been going up there every Tuesday @ 6:00 to show the UT club what's up Smile ... You should join me.

Phil -- I'll see you Thurs. about coming to campus.
