Several of us have gone to these things before - they are fun times. Well run, safe, fair, everyone gets lots of fights, and everyone is friendly.
This one is a gi tournament and takedown "derby". I might skip competing this time but plenty of people wanted to know when the next one of these was:

Tournament Info
In the round robin format all competitors will wrestle against all in their respective skill level and weight class. This makes for a fun tournament where you get enough mat time to be worth the entry fee.
To Pre-Register either:
-Stop by the gym and sign up and pay
-If you are out-of-town you can call the gym and have your name added to the sign up sheet. When you arrive to the competition you will get the pre-registered fee.
-You will roll with everyone in your weight class
-There will be a five minute time limit per match.
-There will be three points awarded for a submission and one point for a draw, the person who accumulates the most points wins their division. No points for takedowns, position or sweeps! You need to submit your opponent!
-Tiebreakers- If two people have the highest points in their weight class a sudden death match will determine the winner. No time limit, win by submission only!
-Illegal submissions are heel hooks, knee bars, neck cranks, muscle cutters, strikes of any sort, gouging, wrist locks and small joint manipulation (fingers and toes).
-All absolute matches will be held in the cage!
Tournament Rules

Competitors must be wearing a gi (or kimono) that is the correct fit. This means that the sleeves of the gi must come around ¾ of the way down between the elbows and wrists when arms are extended out to the side. The gi pants must come around ¾ of the way down between the knees and ankles when standing upright.
Match Results:
Winner will be decided by:
1. Submission (tapping)
2. Disqualification
Submission:
A submission occurs when a technique forces an opponent to admit defeat by:
1. Tapping the hand against his opponent, himself, or the floor.
2. Tapping his feet against the floor.
3. Verbally expressing the desire to stop the match (includes screaming).
4. Withdrawing from the match due to an injury or if the competitor is physically unable to continue the match.
5. A coach withdrawing his competitor for any reason by expressing his intent to the referee, or by throwing in the towel.
6. The referee may end the match if he sees a lock being properly applied and is certain that the Athlete is exposed to serious physical damage, giving victory to the competitor that applied the lock.
Disqualifications:
A competitor will be immediately disqualified for any of the following behavior:
1. Performing any type of striking.
2. Use of foul language, cursing, or other acts of disrespect towards the referee, staff, competitors, coaches, or spectators.
3. Performing an illegal technique.
4. Fleeing to the out of bounds area to avoid a technique or submission.
If the violation is not as serious (i.e. stalling):
The first offence the offender will be given a verbal warning.
After the first offence the referee may disqualify the athlete for any further fouls.
Takedown Derby
The take down derby will be set up bracket style and weight classes will be determined by how many people do it. Might just be something like 170 and below and 171 and up. Time will be 5 minutes or first to get 3 takedowns.
