Thanks to all that helped make this tournament possible. The Baylor crew opened their doors for us to have a tournament & worked very hard to make sure it ran smooth. They were great hosts as each competitor and spectator was a good guest. I am very glad we had such good support from the local community in the Waco area and from the Relson Gracie teams from The Baylor Club, San Antonio, and of course Austin. I am glad Steve & Angie drove up from Houston as well. I was also very pleased to see so many people from teams other than ours. Molher's, Grapplers Lair, & Full Circle, thanks for the support. The event brought in a very large number of competitors, not just from my team.

It is disappointing that zero competitors from any other schools in Austin were willing to step up to the plate. It's pretty obvious that none of the schools want to support what our academy is doing. But to have zero competitors? I have hosted 4 tournaments in Central Texas. Each time our team has been on the mats doing their job, winning. Can no other team from our town step up & give the Relson Gracie Team a challenge? I would suggest stepping up to the plate. Now with the support from each of our associations we can run a good tournament with tough competition without the help of any other teams, but it is much better when other teams are up to the challenge of getting on the mats and having some good matches. At our tournaments people are treated fairly and they get good safe competition.

It is also disappointing that MANY teams that our team has supported the tournaments of did not show up. I know my team has given several thousand dollars to various Machado affiliated tournaments a couple times in the last year alone, much less over the years. It was very disappointing to see another one of our tournaments with either no or very little participation from their affiliations. Grapplers Domain, we supported (and won) your tournament, Bushi Ban, we showed up for the last Dungal & won that as well, how come no one showed? Travis Tooke? After our overwhelming financial support to see zero support/participation this round for us is out of place. Our tournaments are not a secret. Well the event was still great.

The tournament ran smooth. Two Black Belts to referee and two Brown Belts to run the score tables, all was done correctly. I don't think I have ever seen a smoother ran tournament in Texas. The reffing was fair & the whole attitude of the tournament was a good family environment without anyone being disrespectful, unsportsmanlike or anything of the nature. Everyone that showed up to fight was polite, humble, and game to step up to the plate. It was entertaining and a pleasure to be at. The event helped expose people to our sport in a 100% positive manner. Thanks.
